Trinity's Mayer Finishes Sixth In 110-Meter Hurdles At New England Men's Outdoor Track And Field Meet

Hanover, N.H. - Junior Luke Mayer (Morristown, N.J.) finished sixth in the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 15.29, as the Trinity College Bantams competed in the New England Men's Outdoor Track and Field Open Championships at Dartmouth College this weekend.  Mayer posted the seventh-best preliminary time in a field of 22 hurdlers at 15.07 and jumped one place to sixth in the finals to earn Trinity its three points in the team standings.  He was third among four Division III runners in the top eight and earns All-New England Open honors for his performance.  Trinity finished third in the team scoring among 36 teams from all three NCAA divisions, while Southern Connecticut won the team title with 113.5 points.  Bantam junior Alex Tomcho (Windsor, Conn.) added a 14th-place time of 11.03 in the 100-meter dash, while sophomore Ace McAlister (Great Barringtomn, Mass.) was 10th in the 5,000-meter runb at 14:58.40, and junior Ben Feola (Woodbridge, Conn.) finished 29th in the 400-meter dash at 51.64.
