Trinity Men's Pair Ties For First in Season-Opening Home Cross Country Meet

Manchester, Conn. – Senior co-captain Hunter Norte
(Ellington, Conn.) and freshman teammate Michael Burstein
(Brookline, Mass.) tied for first in the 5.000-meter men’s
race with a time of 16:21 at the Trinity College Cross Country
Invitational this morning at Wickham Park, leading the Bantams to
second-place finish in their season-opening meet. Senior
tri-captain Alison Lemire (East Hartford, Conn.) came in 19th
overall with a time of 17:53 for the Trinity women’s team, as
the Bantams finished ninth in the 4,000-meter women’s
race.
The Trinity men finished with 51 points, which was just a single
point behind first-place Mass.-Lowell, while the Trinity women
totaled 268 points. Tufts won the women’s race with 48 points
and Jumbo Stephanie McNamara won the individual title with a
first-place time of 16:31. Sophomore Brendan Powers (Middleton,
Mass.) added a fifth-place time of 16:44 for the Bantams.
