Former Trinity National Cross Country Champ Bak Continues Running Dominance
Hartford, Conn. - Trinity College men's cross country and track and field alum, former Bantam All-American, and 2002 NCAA Division III Men's Cross Country Champion Ryan Bak (Suffield, Conn.) has established himself as one of the top distance runners in the nation. He finished 23rd with a time of 2:15.12 on January 14 in the Olympic Trials Marathon in Houston, Texas. Bak had qualified for the race with his second-place time of 2:14.17 in the California International Marathon in Sacramento, Calif. a couple weeks ago. He was selected as the United States Track and Field (USATF) Athlete of the Week for his fine performance in Sacramento. He was also the subject of a feature story in Running Times Magazine, in Lori Riley's running blog in the Hartford Courant, and in the Quad City Times. Bak's most recent finish was an 11th-place performance (34:51) in the Quad City Times Bix 7 Roadrace in Iowa on Saturday, July 28.
