Trinity Softball Pounds Smith, Splits Pair of Games In Florida

Kissimmee, Fla. - Sophomore Melanie Orphanos (Norton, Mass.) tripled in one game and drove home Trinity's lone run in another to lead the Trinity College Bantams to split against the Smith College Pioneers and the Rowan University Profs in Rebel Spring Games softball action this afternoon.  Trinity outscored Smith, 12-3, but fell to the Profs, 3-1, in nine innings to even its season mark at 2-2. 

Sophomore RHP Kristen Anderson (West Haven, Conn.) tossed a complete game in the circle for the Bantams against Smith, while freshman Katherine Poulos (Wilton, Conn.) was the hard luck loser with just five hits allowed over nine frames against Rowan.
