Hartford, Conn. - The Trinity College softball team, coached by Cailtin Hitchcock (10th Season), has announced its schedule for the 2012 campaign. The Bantams posted a 22-14 record last spring and finished tied with Bowdoin for second place in the NESCAC East with an 8-4 division mark. Trinity qualified for the NESCAC Championship Tournament for the fifth time in the last seven years, reaching the loser's bracket finals with 2-1 losses to Middlebury and Tufts and a 7-5 victory against Williams.
Trinity will begin the 2012 season in warmer climate with five doubleheaders as part of the National Training Center Games in Clermont, Fla. On March 17, Trinity will play its first games of the year against Wisc.-Superior and Lawrence, followed by eight games over the following five days, before starting its Northern schedule at No. 15-ranked Coast Guard on March 27. The Bantams begin NESCAC East play with their home opener against Bates on March 30, and complete the three-game series against the Bobcats with a doubleheader the next day. Trinity's non-conference schedule also includes a road twinbill at No. 4-ranked Eastern Connecticut on April 10.
