  • Trinity Softball 2016 Season Recap

    Hartford, Conn. – The Trinity College softball team, coached by Caitlin Hitchcock (14th season), put together its best season since the spring of 2011 and ended a four-year postseason drought. The Bantams finished the year with an 18-14 overall record and reached the New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) Championship Tournament as the No. 2 seed in the East Division.
  • Trinity Spring Student-Athletes Earn All-Academic Honors

    Hartford, Conn. – The Trinity College spring athletic teams placed 64 student-athletes on the New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) 2015-16 Spring All-Academic Team. To be honored, an individual must have reached sophomore academic standing and be a varsity letter winner with a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.35. A transfer student must have completed one year of study at the institution.
  • Eight Bantam Spring Athletes Named to All-Sportsmanship Team

    Hartford, Conn. - Eight Trinity College spring athletes were named to the 2016 New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) All-Sportsmanship Team for their positive contributions to sportsmanship. Men's track and field senior co-captain Geoffrey Bocobo (Villanova, Pa.) earned his second appearance on the team and was joined by women's track and field junior Katie Tonyai (Jaffrey, N.H.), men's lacrosse senior Seth Bird (Concord, Mass.), women's lacrosse senior Abby McQuillan (Medfield, Mass.), men's tennis senior tri-captain Aaron Segel (Needham, Mass.), womens' tennis senior captain Melita Ferjanic (Samobor, Croatia), baseball senior Mackenze Genauer (Montclair, N.J.), softball junior Victoria Baez (Tuckahoe, N.Y.), men's rowing senior Christopher White (Winchester, Mass.), and women's rowing senior co-captain Claudia Jensen (Bronxville, N.Y.).

    Williamstown, Mass. - Julia Turner's (Kirkland, Wash.) sacrifice fly in the top of the seventh inning snapped a 3-3 tie and lifted Amherst College past the Trinity College Bantams, 4-3, in game three of the 2016 New England Small College Athletic Confernece (NESCAC) Softball Championship Tournament.Trinity was eliminated with the loss and fall to 18-14 overall while Amherst improves to 24-11 and will await the outcome of the 1:25 p.m. Williams-Tufts game to see which team it will face in a second elimination game today.

    Williamstown, Mass. – The Williams College Ephs used a seven run fourth inning to pull away from the Trinity College Bantams and win 10-2 in game one of the 2016 New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) Softball Tournament hosted by the Ephs. Trinity will play in the first game tomorrow morning, an elimination game, against the loser of today's second game between the Tufts Jumbos and Amherst Purple & White.

    This Week: The Trinity College softball closed out the regular season last weekend with a doubleheader split against Bowdoin on Saturday. The Bantams earned a berth to the New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) playoffs this weekend after finishing league play with a 6-6 record. Trinity returns to the postseason for the first time since the 2011 season and will take on Williams on Friday at 2:30 in Williamstown followed by a second-round game, TBD, on Saturday.

    Brunswick, Maine - Despite falling behind 5-0, the Trinity College softball team fought back to make things interesting but it was not enough as the Bantams fell, 5-3, to the Bowdoin College Polar Bears on Friday afternoon in game one of Trinity's final New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) East series of the regular season. Trinity falls to 17-11 overall and 5-5 in conference play while Bowdoin improves to 20-14 and 5-5 in league action as well.
