Trinity's Arnstein Selected To All-NESCAC Women's Basketball Team
Hartford, Conn. - Trinity College junior co-captain guard Claire Arnstein (Hicksville, N.Y.) was selected to the New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) 2008-09 Women's Basketball All-Conference Second Team.
The Trinity women's team, coached by Wendy Davis (4th Season), posted its best regular season record since 1999-00 at 17-8 and finished tied with Wesleyan and Colby for fifth in the NESCAC at 4-5. The Bantams advanced to the NESCAC semifinal game for the first time in College history with a 76-71 quarterfinal triumph at Bates before succumbing at Bowdoin, 74-56. Arnstein finished the semi-final game with a team-high 15 points, seven rebounds, and five assists. For the season, Arnstein averaged 12.1 points, 4.6 rebounds, and a team-high 53 steals and 84 assists. Arnstein is majoring in mathematics with a minor in English at Trinity and is the daughter of Pat and Kevin Arnstein.
