Royals Leads Trinity Women's Basketball To Win At Worcester State


Worcester, Mass. - Freshman guard Michelle Royals (Torrington, Conn.) scored a game-high 19 points, making nine out of 12 shots from the field, to lead the visiting Trinity College Bantams to a 50-43 win over the Worcester State College Lancers women's basketball action this evening.  Trinity improves to 5-0 for the first time since the 1999-00 season, while the Lancers drop to 2-4.

Junior Christine Card (Waterbury, Conn.) pulled down 13 rebounds and classmate Tess Donnie (Worcester, Mass.) notched 11 points for the visitors while Card also added seven points with four steals.  The Lancers were led by junior Reilly O'Keefe (Warren, Mass.) who tallied seven points with 11 rebounds while sophomore Alexis George (Worcester, Mass.) scored a team-high 11 points. Junior Brianne Flanders (Southampton, Mass.) also grabbed nine boards for the Blue and Gold.

Trinity parlayed 29 Lancer turnovers into 19 points while they also held Worcester State to 20 percent (3-for-15) from beyond the arc. Worcester State held the Bantams to just 18 percent (4-for-22) from the floor in the first half.
