Women's Basketball Weekly Preview

This Week: The Trinity College women's basketball went 2-0 last week and won the Ed Hockenbury Invitational for the second-straight season to improve to 4-1 overall to start the winter season. Trinity opens its home schedule on Monday against Coast Guard before hosting Salve Regina on Thursday and Mitchell on Saturday.

Coast Guard Series History: Trinity owns a commanding 26-5 record all-time against Coast Guard, dating back to the first meeting in 1980-81.

Last Time Out Against the Bears: The Bantams won a 55-45 matchup in November of 2008 on the road in New London.

Salve Regina Series History: Trinity is 2-3 against the Seahawks all time dating back to the 1998-99 season.

Last Time Out Against the Seahawks: Salve Regina beat the Bantams 73-59 in the 2003-04 season-opener.

Mitchell Series History: Trinity is a perfect 3-0 against the Mariners in a series that started during the 2012-13 season.

Last Time Out Against the Mariners: The Bantams pulled out a nine-point win at home last season against Mitchell, never trailing in the game.

Game Notes:

Sophomore center Courtney Erickson had a career-best 20 points on 7-of-13 shooting to lead the Bantams against Bridgewater State on Friday. Erickson added 18 points the following day to earn Most Outstanding Player honors for the tournament. She is averaging 13.2 points per game (4th in NESCAC) and 6.4 boards per game, both team-highs.

- Sophomore guard Rebecca Reifler continued her solid start to the season with back-to-back double digit point performances in the Hockebury Invitational. The New York native is averaging 10.8 points per game on 46% shooting which is tenth-best in the league. She's also tied for sixth in the conference in three-point shooting (.500).

- Sophomore Erica Junquet leads the team in field goal percentage (.579) while scoring 6.0 points per contest. Junior forward Emily Llerena is second on the team with a .549 shooting clip to go along 4.2 points per game.

- First-year Peace Kabari is fourth in the NESCAC in steals per contest (2.2) after collecting five of them in the Hockenbury Invitational Final. Also in Saturday's game, senior co-captain Kaitlin Lewis had a season-best 12 points on 50% shooting from the field.

- The Bantams trio of home games this week are the last games of the fall semester for the team. Trinity returns to action over New Year's Eve weekend when they compete in the Hat City Classic at nearby Western Connecticut State.
