Top Ten Women's Ice Hockey Teams Trinity And Amherst Face Off Twice This Weekend


Hartford, Conn., Nov. 25 - The Trinity College women's ice hockey team, which is 2-0 after a pair of wins at Wesleyan (7-1 and 4-0) to start the season the last two weekends, has made its first appearance of 2008-09 in the United States College Hockey Online.com (USCHO.com) Division III Poll as the No. 10-ranked team in the nation.  The Bantams, coached by Andrew McPhee (7th Season), will have a home-and-home series this weekend against No. 4-ranked Amherst College in two pivotal New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) games between the two 2-0 teams in the league.  Trinity will visit Amherst on Saturday, Nov. 29 at 4 p.m. and host the Lord Jeffs the next day at 3 p.m.

Trinity received a hat trick from junior forward Britney McKenna (Rye, N.H.), all on redirections in front of the Wesleyan net during power-play situations, in the season-opening win at Wesleyan, while junior goalie Isabel Iwachiw (New York, N.Y.) totaled 35 saves and allowed just one goal in 120 minutes between the pipes.

Bantam sophomore forward Kim Weiss (Potomac, Md.) leads the squad in scoring with two goals and two assists, while sophomore forward Jill Roloff (West Seneca, N.Y.) and freshman defender Dominique Di Dia (Studio City, Calif.) each have three points on two goals and one assist and one goal and two assists, respectively.
