Trinity Women's Ice Hockey Blanks Wesleyan


Middletown, Conn. - Junior Goaltender Isabel Iwachiw made 21 saves to record a shutout, as the visiting Trinity College Bantams defeated the Wesleyan University Cardinals, 4-0, in New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) women's ice hockey action this evening.  Trinity improves to 2-0 overall and i the NESCACwith its second win at Wesleyan this season, while the Cardinals drop to 0-2 overall and in the league.

Freshman Dominique Di Dia scored the game's first goal at 17:21 of the first period and Trinity added second-period goals by sophomore Kim Weiss on a strong move to the net past two Wesleyan defenders and by senior Michelle Chee who put home the rebound while Trinity was short-handed.  Freshman Celia Colman-McGaw finished off the scoring for Trinity at 12:39 of the third period by following up a shot by sophomore Laura Komarek that had
glanced off the glove arm of Wesleyan senior netminder Rachel Stemerman.  Stemerman posted a career-high 54 saves in the contest.
