Hartford, Conn. - Trinity College women's ice hockey senior co-captain defender Kelley McCarthy (Kingston, Mass.) has been selected to the New England Small College Athletic Conference 2008-09 All-Sportsmanship Team.

Mellen Leads Conn. College To Women's Ice Hockey Tournament Win at Trinity

Hartford, Conn. – Senior goalkeeper Lauren Mellen (Joliet, Ill.) made 27 of her 53 saves in the third period to lead the visiting Connecticut College Camels to a 2-1 victory over the Trinity College Bantams in the quarterfinal round of the New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) Women’s Ice Hockey Championship Tournament this afternoon action at Williams Rink.





Trinity comes off its best-ever season, finishing 18-5-3 and winning its first playoff game last year.  The team competes in NESCAC, which offers one of the most challenging women's ice hockey schedules in the country.  Head Coach Andrew McPhee, the 2008 NESCAC Coach of the Year, has continued to build the program each season and looks forward to building on its appearances in the NESCAC Championship Tournament in 2005, 2007, and 2008.
