Hartford, Conn. – Senior goalkeeper Isabel Iwachiw (New York, N.Y.) needed to make just 12 saves to earn a shutout between the pipes, as the Trinity College Bantams posted a season-opening 2-0 win over the visiting SUNY Cortland Red Dragons in women’s ice hockey action this evening at Williams Rink in the Koeppel Community Sports Center.

Trinity's Gleason Earns NESCAC All-Academic Honors For Women's Ice Hockey

Hartford, Conn., July 30, 2009 - Trinity College women's ice hockey junior Hadley Gleason (Boston, Mass.) was selected for the 2009 NESCAC Winter All-Academic squad. Each NESCAC All-Academic honoree must be varsity letterwinner and maintain at least a 3.35 grade-point average.





Trinity comes off another excellent season, finishing 13-10-2 and hosting its second straight playoff game. The team competes in NESCAC, which offers one of the most challenging women's ice hockey schedules in the country. Head Coach Andrew McPhee, the 2008 NESCAC Coach of the Year, has continued to build the program each season and looks forward to building on its appearances in the NESCAC Championship Tournament in 2005, 2007, 2008, and 2009.
