  • Women's Lacrosse Head Coach Katy Dissinger Named as a IWLCA Coach of the Year

    Hartford, Conn. - Trinity College women's lacrosse Head Coach Katy Dissinger (2nd Season) was named as the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) Division III Berkshire Region Coach of the Year, as announced by the IWLCA on Monday afternoon. Dissinger was also honored as the 2012 IWLCA National Assistant Coach of the Year before taking over head coaching duties in 2014. Dissinger will be one of the 14 coaches honored at the IWLCA Honors Banquet held on November 17 during the IWLCA Annual Meetings at Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort in Florida.

    Hartford, Conn. - It was another impressive year for the Trinity College women's lacrosse team in 2016, as the Bantams returned to the NCAA Final Four and the National Championship game for the fifth straight season. Trinity finished the season with a 19-4 overall record and a 9-1 mark in New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) action. After ending the regular season as the No. 1 seed in the NESCAC Championship Tournament, the Bantams fell to Middlebury, 10-7, in the conference championship game before falling to them again in the National Championship game, 9-5. In the final polls of the season released by both the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) and Lacrosse Magazine, Trinity was ranked No. 2 in the country for the fourth consecutive year.

To be honored, an individual must have reached sophomore academic standing and be a varsity letter winner with a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.35. A transfer student must have completed one year of study at the institution.
