Trinity's Vaughan Named To NWCA Scholar All American Team
Hartford, Conn. - Trinity College wrestling senior captain Greg Vaughan (Hingham, Mass.) was named to the National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) Division III Scholar All-American Team, and joined sophomores Jeremy Rees (Framingham, Mass.) and John Williams (Winchester, Mass.) and on the 2012 NESCAC Winter All-Academic Team.

Vaughan Completes One Of Best Trinity Wrestling Careers In Program History
Hartford, Conn. - The Trinity College wrestling team, coached by Steve Makein (5th Season), finished the 2011-12 season with a 4-15 dual-match record, placed 10th in the New England Wrestling Association (NEWA) Duals Championships, and closed the year with a 13th-place finish in the NEWA Championships.

Middletown, Conn. - Trinity College senior heavyweight Greg Vaughan (Hingham, Mass.) and sophomore 197-pounder Petros Hologitas (Rockland, Mass.) each claimed fourth place in his bracket, as the Trinity College Bantams finished 13th in the New England Wrestling Association Championships at Wesleyan University.

Bristol, R.I. - Freshman heavyweigtht Kyle McGuire (Mansfield, Mass.) won his division title, downing rookie teammate Michael Cyr (Scarborough, Maine) in the finals, to lead the Trinity College Bantam wrestling team to fourth place in the New England Wrestling Association (NEWA) Futures Tournament this afternoon at Roger Williams University.

Trinity Wrestling Closes Duals Season At Bridgewater State Quad
Bridgewater, Mass. - The Trinity College Bantams went 0-3 in the final duals action of the 2011-12 season, losing to the United States Coast Guard Academy Bears, 22-14, the Rhode Island College Anchormen, 33-9, and the host Bridgewater State University Bears, 27-22, in a quad match this afternoon. Trinity closes the duals season with a 4-15 record and 10 straight setbacks.

Wilkes-Barre, Pa. – The Trinity College Bantams dropped three dual matches in a wrestling quad at Wilkes University this afternoon. Trinity falls to 4-10 with a 39-13 loss to the Rochester Institute of Technology Yellowjackets, a 46-9 loss to the Wilkes University Colonels, and a 28-21 setback against the Gettysburg College Bullets.

Trinity Wrestling Loses Twice At Roger Williams Tri-Match
Bristol, R.I. - The Trinity College Bantams dropped two in a wrestling tri-match at Roger Williams Univesrity this afternoon. Trinity falls to 2-4 with a 40-3 loss to the host Hawks and a 31-16 defeat against the Wesleyan University Cardinals. Senior captain Greg Vaughan (Hingham, Mass.) was the lone Bantam to post wins in each match, earning an 8-0 win against Roger Williams and an 8-4 triumph against Wesleyan in the heavyweight bouts.

Trinity Wrestling Takes Two Flights In Long Island Open
Garden City, N.Y. – Junior 165-pounder Kyle Lundberg (Guilford, Conn.) and sophomore 197-pounder Petros Hologitas (Rockland, Mass.) won tournament flight titles, as the Trinity College Bantams competed in the Long Island Wrestling Open this afternoon at Nassau Community College. The tournament was a Takedown for Autism" event with the goal of raising awareness and funds to help fight autism.

Trinity Wrestling Opens Promising 2011-12 Season At Doug Parker Invitational
Hartford, Conn. - The Trinity College Bantam wrestling team will open the 2011-12 season in the Doug Parker Invitational at Springfield College on Saturday, November 19. Trinity has re-established itself as a legitimate contender in New England in its fifth season under the direction of head coach Steven Makein, having finished above the .500 mark (8-7) in dual matches last winter for the first time since 2003-04.
