Gorham, Maine - Southern Maine senior Steven Corio (Manville, R.I.) earned a win by fall in the 184-pound bout to put the match out of reach and help the University of Southern Maine wrestling team to a 32-12 win over the Trinity College Bantams in dual meet action Friday night at the Costello Sports Complex in Maine. Southern Maine improves to 3-1 in dual-meet action while the Bantams fall to 0-2.

Trinity pulled to within five points of the Huskies after the 174-pound bout when rookie Stephen Cerrone (Quechee, Vt.) edged Southern Maine senior Aaron Weiss (East Machias, Maine) by a 13-6 decision. Cerrone's match was preceded by another Bantam win at 165-pounds when sophomore Nolan Cornu (Hopkinton, Mass.) earned a gutsy, 3-2 decision over Southern Maine senior Aaron Weiss (East Machias, Maine). Depsite the Trinity victories, Southern Maine finished the day with three straight wins to put the dual away.

Trinity returns to action tomorrow morning when the Bantams compete in the Ted Reese Invitational tournament, also hosted by the Huskies.
