Trinity Wrestling Falls In Season Opener To East Stroudsburg

Hartford, Conn. – The Trinity College wrestling team fell behind, 29-6, to the visiting NCAA Division II East Stroudsburg University Warriors in their season-opening dual match this evening at Oosting Gymnasium and lost by an eventual score of 29-15.  Both teams will compete in the Doug Parker Invitational tomorrow at Springfield College. 

Bantam sophomore Mason Sangillo (Florham Park, N.J.) won an 11-7 decision in the heavyweight bout to put six of 15 points on the board for the home squad.  Trinity sophomore captain Grant Sorensen (Moore, Okla.) was edged, 3-2, in the 157-pound match by East Stroudsburg sophomore Blake Cohen (Cortlandt Manor, N.Y.), while senior Tyler Richardson (Brick, N.J.) won by fall at 184 pounds for the Warriors.
