Trinity Women's Rowing Takes Fourth At Murphy Cup To Open 2009
Philadelphia, Pa. - The Trinity College women's varsity eight crew finished fourth in the grand final of the Murphy Cup with a time of 6:48.29 this afternoon on Schuylkill River. Trinity finished .39 seconds behind third-place Drexel and 8.32 seconds shy of first-place Bucknell in the grand final. The Bantams had qualified for the grand final with a first-place time of 6:46.24 in their preliminary heat, which was almost four seconds faster than second-place Rutgers. Trinity, ranked No. 2 in the nation, was the lone Division III school among the 24 entries. Trinity's women's varsity four came in sixth place in its preliminary heat with a time of 8:11.52.
