Trinity Women's Crews Fare Well In Home Dual Races Against Coast Guard

East Hartford, Conn. - The Trinity College Bantam second-varsity eight crew won two races by comfortable margins over that of the visiting United States Coast Guard Academy Bears in women's rowing action this morning on the Connecticut River. 

The Bantam second varsity won its first race by 6.7 seconds at 6:33.2 and its second by 6.2 seconds at 6:26.6.  Trinity's varsity four won both races easily against Coast Guard, while the novice eight won by over 10 seconds in its first race, but lost its second by .35 seconds.  The Bantam varsity eight, ranked No. 4 in the nation, fell to No. 6-ranked Coast Guard by just under three seconds in the early morning, but rallied to finish a half-second faster in the second race.
