Trinity Women's Rowing Keeps Winning Ways Going With First-Place In Head Of The Schuylkill
Philadelphia, Pa. - The Trinity College "A" entry in the Open Club Eights race in the Head of the Schuylkill Regatta finixshed first of 31 crews with a winning time of 14:22.52. The Bantam boat finished 8.58 second faster than the second-place crew from Navy, and extended Trinity's streak of events with first-place finishes to four consecutive weekends having had boats win at least one race at the Head of the Riverfront, the Head of the Housatonic, and the prestigious Head of the Charles last week. The Club 8+ made up of senior Coxswain Julia McGhee (Monclair, N.J.) , Freshman Jennifer Sager (Erdenheim, Pa.), senior Robin Neschke (Still River, Mass.), junior Renee Swetz (Newton, Mass.), junior Jillian Zieff (Wayland, Mass.), freshman Madeleine Boudreau (Sherborn, Mass.), senior Emily Bower (Cincinnati, Ohio.), junior Claire Barkin (Weston, Mass.), and freshman Claudia Jensen (Bronxville, N.Y.) did an exceptional job over the distance. The senior leadership and attitude has been outstanding.
Trinity's B" entry earned fourth place at 14:46.66 in the same race, while the Bantam collegiate/novice fours boat placed fifth at 18:21.60 in its 12-boat race. Trinity also had three boats in the Open Heavy Championship Eights Race that came in ninth, 15th, and 17th, respectively, while the two Bantam crews in the Open Fours took eighth and 12th place, respectively. The Club 8+ B entry made up of sophomore Coxswain Sarah Keane (Weston, Mass.), freshman Agatha Brandfield-Harvey (Houstan, Texas), sophomore Margaret Ciocca (Wellesley, Mass.), senior Nicole Maleh (Dover, Mass.), sophomore Julia Kelling (Pelham, N.Y.), junior Lauren Yianilos (Princeton, N.J.), sophomore Kiely MacMahon (Marshall, Va.), junior Clair Anderson (Sonoma, Cali.), and senior Abigail Hall (Larchmont, N.Y.). The Trinity Novice 4+ came in fifth with a time of 18:21.60. The Novice 4+ was made up of sophomore Coxswain Berkley Singer (Lincoln, Mass.), sophomore Sarah Wolcott (Greenville, Del.), freshman Frances Walsh (Brookline, Mass.), freshman Gwen Dougherty (Boxford, Mass.), and sophomore Jessica Donovan (Westwood, Mass.).
