Howard Becomes Trinity's First Four-Time All-NESCAC Women's Soccer Player

Hartford, Conn., Jan. 11, 2012 – Trinity College senior co-captain forward Leigh Howard (Bethany, Conn.) was named to the New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) All-Conference Second Team.  Trinity, coached by Michael Smith (15th Season), finished the 2011 season with a 5-7-2 overall record and finished tied with Bates for ninth place in the NESCAC with a 2-6-2 league mark. 

Howard, Trinity's first-ever, four-time, All-NESCAC honoree (1st in 2009 and 2010, 2nd in 2008), played in and started all 14 games in 2011, finishing 3rd on the team in goals and scoring and second in assists with three goals and three assists for nine points on a team-high 58 shots.  As a sophomore, Howard tied the Trinity record for points in a season with 26 (10g, 6a).  In her fine career, Howard totaled 28 goals and 13 assists for 69 points (3rd all-time at Trinity) with College records of seven game-winning markers and 212 shots in 53 games.  A graduate of Amity High School where she was All-State four times and graduated as the top-goal scorer in Connecticut history, Howard is majoring in psychology at Trinity.  She is the daughter of Janice and Michael Howard.
