Michael Smith, holder of a United States Soccer Federation "B" license and National Soccer Coaches Association of America advanced national diploma, is entering his 13th season overall and 10th as full-time head coach of the women's soccer program at Trinity. The Bantams have a 67-89-14 record in Smith's 12 years with NESCAC Championship Tournament appearances in 2001, 2002, 2003, and 2008.
Smith looks for one-on-one ability, work ethic, and
personality, when recruiting future players. The team has worked
hard to become proficient with Coach Smith's attacking style of
play. Trinity will strive to finish in the top half of the NESCAC
standings and advance deeper into the NESCAC Championship Tourney
again in 2008. Smith earned his bachelor's degree from Central
Connecticut State University.
Mary Bushnell begins her second
season as assistant women's soccer coach at Trinity. A 2005
graduate of Connecticut College with a bachelor's degree in English
and American Studies, Bushnell was an English teacher and an
assistant men's soccer and men's basketball coach at St. Thomas
More Prep School from 2005 to 2008. A four-year letterwinner in
basketball and soccer at Conn. College, Bushnell was team captain
for both squads and a two-time, NESCAC All-Academic honoree. She
will also serve as an assistant women's basketball coach at
Trinity, where she is pursuing a master's degree as a graduate
assistant.
