Bahgat Wins Clinching Match In Trinity Women's Squash Win Over Yale


Hartford, Conn. - Freshman Nour Bahgat (Cairo, Egypt) won the clinching match, 3-0, at the No. 1 spot to lead the Trinity College Bantams to a 5-4 win over the visiting Yale University Bulldogs in women's squash action this evening at Kellner Squash Center.  Trinity, ranked No. 3 in the nation, improves to 7-0 and snaps a three-game losing skid against Yale, while the No. 5-ranked Bulldogs drop to 6-1.

Bahgat made quick work of Yale sophomore Logan Greer (Berwyn, Pa.) in the last match of the evening, 9-3, 9-5, 9-2, after Bulldog senior Tara Wadhwa (Wappingers Falls, N.Y.) had knotted the match at 4-4 with a marathon, 3-2 triumph over Bantam sophomore Emery Holton (Philadelphia, Pa.) in the No. 7 match.  Yale led, 2-1, after the first round of matches, but Trinity sophomore Robyn Williams (Bulawayo, Zimbabwe) and freshman Pamela Jimenez (Puerto Vallarta, Mexico) each posted 3-0 wins to tie the match at 3-3 with three matches left to play.  Junior co-captain Jo-Ann Jee (Kuching, Malaysia) won, 3-0, in the No. 4 match to give the Bantams a 4-3 edge.
