Trinity Women's Squash Rolls To 11th-Straight NESCAC Finals

Amherst, Mass. - The top-seeded Trinity College Bantams won 17 of 18 individual matches by a 3-0 score to blank the No. 9-seeded Colby College Mules and the No. 4-seeded Bates College Bobcats, 9-0, each and advance to the finals of the New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) Women's Squash Championship Tournament this afternoon at Davenport Courts on the campus of Amherst College.  Trinity, ranked No. 3 in the nation, advances to the NESCAC Finals for the 11th consecutive season and will face the No. 2-seeded Williams College Ephs tomorrow at 3 p.m.  Trinity has won all 10 NESCAC titles since the inception of the tournament in 2007.  First-year Vanessa Raj (Teluk Kumbar, Malaysia) allowed only five points, while junior Julia LeCoq (Creteil, France) and sophomore Jenny Haley (Newport, Wales) yielded only six points each in the Colby match.  Against Bates, senior Alexia Echeverria (San Salvador, El Salvador) gave up only six points, Raj allowed eight, and LeCoq surrenderred just nine.
