Wendy Bartlett is entering her 25th year as
head coach of the Trinity College women's squash team. In 24
seasons, Bartlett's teams have compiled an impressive record of
254-79. Last year, the Bantams posted a 14-4 record and
finished fourth in the College Squash Association (CSA)
National Team Championships (Howe Cup). Trinity, which had won the
Howe Cup title with undefeated seasons in 2002 and 2003, suffered
all four of its losses against teams ranked among the
top three in the nation.
Bartlett earned her bachelor's degree from Rollins College and
obtained her master's degree in physical education from Central
Connecticut State University. Before coming to Trinity, she was the
director of racquet sports at the Fox Chapel Golf Club in
Pittsburgh, PA. An associate professor at the College, Bartlett
also serves as the Trinity women's tennis coach.
During her tenure at Trinity, Bartlett has improved upon the
College's excellent squash tradition. She emphasizes hard work and
perseverance during drills, conditioning, and competition
throughout practice sessions. When working individually with
players, she strives to develop skills that her players can apply
in competitive situations.
Joanne Schickerling starts her second season as an assistant
women's squash and women's tennis coach at Trinity. Schickerling
graduated from Indiana State University in 2008 with a degree in
excercise science, after a successful tennis career. Schickerling
is also a highly-skilled squash player and a certified 1 level
coach in her native country of South Africa. Schickerling is
pursuing a master's degree at Trinity as a graduate assistant.
