Haynes Highlights Cardinal Invite For Trinity Women's Swimming And Diving


Middletown, Conn. - Sophomore Brooke Haynes (Franklin, Mass.) finished fourth in the 200-yard butterfly and totaled 75 points in her combined events to lead the Trinity College Bantams to fourth place in the Cardinal Women's Swimming and Diving Invitational at Wesleyan University this weekend. 

Haynes placed in the top ten in all six of her races this weekend.  First-year Saya Lindsay (Los Angeles, Calif.) combined for a total of 41 points including eighth-place finishes in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 5:39.59 and the 400-yard individual medley with a time of 5:16.27 and placed ninth in the 200-yard backstroke.  Also collecting top-ten finishes were first-year Ali Romano (Trumbull, Conn.) in the 500-yard freestyle, senior Regina Lea (Allentown, Pa.) in the 50-yard freestyle and 200-yard freestyle, first year Madison Helies (Jamestown R.I.) in the 400-yard individual medley, senior Katherine Meltzoff (Seattle, Wash.) in the 1650-yard freestyle, and first-year Sarah Weitzman (Meadowbrook, Pa.) in the 200-yard backstroke.  First year-diver Kate Bress (Yorktown Heights, N.Y.) finished fourth in the 3 meter dive.
