Trinity College Swimming and Diving Announces 2016-17 Schedule

Hartford, Conn. – The Trinity College Men’s and Women’s Swimming and Diving Head Coach Carlos Vega (3rd season) has announced his team’s schedules for the upcoming 2016-17 season. The Bantam men hit the water nine times while the women take to the water ten times this winter, highlighted by a trip to the New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) Championships in February.

It was a successful campaign both in and out of the pool for the Trinity College men’s and women’s swimming and diving team in 2015-16. The Bantams saw vast improvements throughout the course of the season as multiple College records and individual-best times were shattered.

The Bantams opens their slate at at Hamilton on Saturday, November 19, before returning to Hartford for the teams' home opener on November 20 against Bates.

In December, both squads will travel to in-state and conference rival Wesleyan to compete in the Connecticut Cup (12/3) before heading to Clark the following weekend (12/10) to close out the fall semester.

Both teams open up the new year by hosting Brandeis on Friday, January 13, in respective dual meets. The Trinity men then welcome Vassar to town the following day (1/14), while the women will also host the Brewers as well as Mt. Holyoke in a tri-meet. The following week, the Bantams travel to Maine for a quad-meet against Wesleyan, Bowdoin and Colby on January 20, hosted by the Polar Bears. On Saturday, January 28, the men's team plays host to Conn. College and Wheaton for a tri-meet, while the women's team hosts Conn. College, Wheaton, and Wellesley for a quad-meet.

On February 10-12, the women travel to Bowdoin to compete for a league title at the 2017 NESCAC Championships while the men’s league championship takes place the following weekend (2/17-2/19) at Wesleyan. Also at Wesleyan on the 19th is the Women's February Invitational which the women's team will compete at, making for a busy Sunday of swimming in Middletown.

Trinity swimmers and divers can qualify and compete in both the NCAA Division III Regional Championships on February 24-25 and the NCAA Division III National Championships March 15-18 in Shenandoah, Texas.
