Hartford, Conn. - The Trinity College women's swimming and diving team will compete for the first time this season when the Bantams travel to Hamilton College on Saturday, November 19, before hosting Bates the following day. Under the direction of Head Coach Carlos Vega (3rd season) and captained by seniors Chelsey Crabbe (Marshfield, Mass.) and Brenna Weber (New Orleans, La.), Trinity is eager to return to the water.
Junior Cassidy Black (Dover, N.H.) looks to improve on an impressive sophomore campaign where she broke several Trinity records at the New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) Championships and earned a handful of first-place finishes during the season. Classmate Nia Vogel (White Plains, N.Y.) finished first in the 400-yard medley against Brandeis last season and set a personal best in the breaststroke at the conference championship and should be a vital member of the squad this year.
Trinity's senior class features Crabbe, Weber, Eliza Maciag (West Hartford, Conn.) and Hadley Merrill (Rowayton, Conn.) who add veteran leadership and valuable experience to a team that boasts seven newcomers. Maciag will look to conclude a decorated swimming career as she holds all the Trinity backstroke records and has been a quality scorer in the league championship meets over the last years. Sophomores Lauren D'Angelo (West Caldwell, N.J.) and Meghan Barry (Reading, Mass.), the lone members of the class of 2019, performed well as rookies last winter and add quality depth to distance events.
