Trinity Women's Swimming Diving Beaten By Bates In Home Opener

Hartford, Conn. - The Trinity College Bantams lost, 235-58, against the visiting Bates College Bobcats in women's swimming and diving action this afternoon at Trinity Natatorium.  The Bantams, playing in their home opener, drop to 1-1, while the Bobcats improve to 2-0.

First-year Nine Tzianabos (Reading, Mass.) highlighted the meet for the Bantams with second-place finishes in both the 50- and 100-yard freesyles, while classmate Audrey Ettinger (New Canaan, Conn.) added a second-place swim in the 100-yard butterfly.  Senior Blair Frantz (Montclair, N.J.) was second in the 500-yard freestyle for the home team.

Bates opened the meet with a narrow win in the 200-yard medley relay, taking first by a margin of .43 seconds with a time of 1:56.47.  Janiko Ho set a pool record with her time of 1:02.04 in the 100-yard IM, helping the Bobcats take first, second, and third in the event.
