Trinity Women's Tennis loses At Middlebury


Middlebury, Vt. - Sophomore Jillian Steckloff (Framingham, Mass.) scored her team's only points of the day, winning the No. 5 singles match, as the visiting Trinity College Bantams dropped an 8-1 match against the Middlebury College Panthers this afternoon.  Trinity falls to 7-4 overall and 0-2 in the NESCAC with its second loss in a row, while the Panthers, ranked No. 6 in the Northeast and No. 15 in the nation, improve to 7-5 overall and 4-0 in the league with their third consecutive victory.

Steckloff defeated Middlebury first year Hilary Cunningham (Greenlawn, N.Y.) 6-3, 6-3.  Middlebury swept the doubles matches and won four of five singles matches in straight sets. First year Anna Burke (Summit, N.J.) clinched the match with her 6-2, 6-3 win in the #4 singles slot.
