Trinity Women's Tennis Tops Wesleyan


Hartford, Conn. - Sophomore Robyn Williams (Bulawayo, Zimbabwe) allowed just one point in a straight-set singles triumph at the No. 4 position and teamed with junior Olivia Merns (New York, N.Y.) for an 8-3 doubles victory at the No. 2 spot to lead the Trinity College Bantams to a 7-2 win over the visiting Wesleyan University Cardinals in New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) women's tennis action this afternoon. 

Trinity, ranked No. 10 in the Northeast, improves to 11-4 overall and 3-2 in the NESCAC with its fourth win in a row.  Wesleyan falls to 10-6 overall and 3-5 in the league.  Merns also won at No. 6 singles in straight sets and senior co-captain Amanda Tramont (Miami, Fla.) posted first singles and first doubles wins for the Bantams.  The match was played indoors due to rain.
