Trinity Women's Tennis Downs Holy Cross To Christen New Courts
Hartford, Conn. – Sophomore Frances Cameron (Mill Valley, Calif.) did not allow a single points at No. 5 singles and teamed with classmate Hillary Hoyt (New York, N.Y.) for an 8-3 triumph at first doubles to lead the Trinity College Bantams to an 8-1 win over the visiting Division I Holy Cross Crusaders in women’s tennis action this afternoon at the Assaiante Tennis Center. Trinity is 1-0 with the win in its first dual-match of the year and the first match to be played on the College’s new lighted blue courts. The Crusaders fall to 0-3. Hoyt also won in singles in straight sets, at the No. 1 position, as did first-years Regan Cherna (Bronxville, N.Y.) and Elizabeth Gerber (Bethesda, Md.) in their respective first collegiate singles matches.
