Trinity Women's Tennis Drops Last Match Of Regular Season At Tufts

Medford, Mass. - The visiting Trinity College Bantams suffered a 7-2 loss to the Tufts University Jumbos, 7-2, in the New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) women's tennis regular-season finale for both teams this afternoon.  Trinity finishes at 10-5 overall and 4-3 in the NESCAC, while the No. 13-ranked Jumbos improve to 8-9 overall and 4-4 in the league with their first win in five matches.  Both teams should qualify for the NESCAC Championship Tournament next weekend.

Trailing, 3-0, after doubles, Trinity won two of five singles matches.  Ssenior captain Kelsey Semrod (Princeton, N.J.) took a 10-5 super tie-breaker to win the No. 3 singles match, and junior Hillary Hoyt (New York, N.Y.) was awarded the No. 1 macth when her opponent retired after just three games.
