Wellesley, Mass. - The Trinity College Bantams downed the Massachusetts Institute of Technology Engineers, 8-1, to take third place in the Nor-Easter Bowl Women's Tennis Tournament at Dana Hall School. Trinity, ranked No. 24 in the nation, improves to 6-4, while the No. 21-ranked Engineers fall to 14-4 with their second loss in a row.
Trinity swept doubles play by a combined score of 24-11 and won five of the six singles matches, all in straight sets. Junior Senzo Mauve-Maphisa (Bulawayo, Zimbabwe) and first-year Morgan Feldman (Upper Brookville, N.Y.) won easily at No. 2 doubles, 8-1, and both yielded a mere three points in singles wins to highlight a dominant overall team performance by the Bantams.
