Trinity Women's Tennis Handles Hardin-Simmons

Claremont, Calif. - Junior Elizabeth Gerber (Bethesda, Md.) dominated the No. 1 singles match with a 6-2, 6-1 victory and teamed with classmate Regan Cherna (Bronxville, N.Y.) for an 8-0 win at third doubles to lead the Trinity College Bantams to an 8-1 triumph over the Hardin-Simmons University Cowgirls in women's tennis action this afternoon at the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Colleges. Trinity, ranked No. 8 in the Northeast and No. 21 in the nation, improves to 2-1, while the Cowgirls fall to 1-6 with their sixth loss in a row.  Trinity swept the doubles by a combined score of 24-2 and posted five singles wins in straight sets.
