Women's Tennis Wins Third Straight With 7-0 Shutout of Holy Cross

Worcester, Mass. - Junior tri-captain Vanja Babunski (Belgrade, Serbia) and rookie Jillian Winer (Bolton, Mass.) both dropped just one set to lead the Trinity College women's tennis squad to a 7-0 shutout of Holy Cross on Thursday afternoon in Worcester. Trinity swept singles play and won 2-of-3 doubles matchups for the victory. 

First-year Julia Brogan (Falmouth, Maine) also had a great showing in the No. 2 singles spot for the Bantams, defeating her opponent by consecutive scores of 6-1. Classmate Krista Jiranek (Owings Mill, Md.) cruised in the No. 3 spot, winning 6-3, 6-1, while senior tri-captain Ania Aliev (Needham, Mass.) and junior Sara Curtis (Milton, Mass.) took care of business in the No. 5 and No. 6 spots in the lineup, respectively, to round out the scoring.

Trinity returns to action on Saturday when it plays host to Babson College for a 2 p.m. match.
