Hartford, Conn. - The No. 8-ranked Tufts University Jumbos swept the Trinity College Bantams, 9-0, on Tuesday afternoon in New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) women's tennis action at the Assaiante Tennis Center on Trinity's campus. The Bantams fall to 6-7 overall and 1-5 in conference play while Tufts wins its fifth shutout of the year to improve to 13-4 and 6-2 in league action. First-year Jillian Winer (Bolton, Mass.) won the first set, 6-4, in her match at No. 4 singles but dropped the next two sets. The rest of the matches in singles action were won by Tufts in straight-sets while the Jumbos dropped just three total points in all three of the doubles matches. Trinity returns to action on Saturday for a 1 p.m. match at Skidmore.
