Ciarleglio has Strong Showing in NCAA Div. III Track and Field Championships

Marietta, Ohio - Trinity College women's outdoor track and field first-year Sarah Ciarleglio (Waterbury, Conn.) finished ninth overall in the javelin throw event at the NCAA Division III National Championship Meet at Don Drumm Stadium today.
Ciarleglio made a throw of 135'11" (41.43m) to give her a ninth place finish among the top ninteen participants in the country that qualified for the NCAA Div. III Championships.
Ciarleglio qualified for the event with a College-record-breaking toss of 141'04.00" that won her the New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) Championship title in April. The throw, which earned her Rookie Most Outstanding Performance honors, broke a Trinity record by more than 28 feet. Also this spring, Ciarleglio won New England Division III javelin throw recording a distance of 136'11" and came in third place in the New England Open championship Meet at 137'09".
