Trinity Women's Relayers Earn All-New England Honors
Cambridge, Mass. - Trinity College senior captain Katlin Mock (Albany, N.Y.), sophomore Monika Pandzic (Williamstown, Mass.), and first-years Mary Daly (Madison, Wisc.) and Bridget Maguire (White Plains, N.Y.) finished seventh in the 4x800-meter relay with a time of 9:46.35, as the Bantams tied for 27th place as a team in the New England Division III Women's Outdoor Track and Field Championship Meet at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology this afternoon. The foursome's time was 3.52 seconds behind the sixth-place quartet and 2.69 faster than the eighth-place relayers, while besting its own seed in the event by over 23 seconds. All four collect All-New England honors for the outstanding performance. Trinity earned two points for the finish, allowing them to score in the team standings and finish tied with Fitchburg State for 27th place.
Bantam junior Caroline Healy (Winnetka, Ill.) finished one spot out of the scoring with a ninth-place time of 59.46 in the 400-meter dash, while rookie Megan Darnley (Westborough, Mass.) broke theCollege's pole vault record for the third time this spring with a cleared height of 9'08".
