Trinity's Wilborne Closes Outstanding Career With Ninth-Place Finish In Triple Jump At NCAA Championships

Canton, N.Y. - Senior co-captain Jenna Wilborne (New Haven, Conn.) finished ninth in the triple jump with a distance of 39'00.50", representing Trinity College in the 2015 NCAA Division III Women's Outdoor Track and Field Championships at St. Lawrence University this afternoon. Wilborne's final attempt was equal to that of the eighth-place competitor, but she lost on the tiebreaker and finished one spot shy of All-American recognition. Wilborne placed as the highest jumper from New England for the second outdoor national championship in a row. She was over an inch better than the 10th-place finisher and 3.25 feet shy of the first-place jumper, who set a DIII record

"It is amazing to think how far Jenna has come in her four years at Trinity College. I could not be more proud of how she has grown and matured as a student-athlete," said Interim Head Coach John Michael Mason. "She has qualified for the last four track & field national championships, and has finished top ten in the country in the last three. Jenna has learned to compete under pressure better than any athlete I have ever coached. She is one of the best female athletes Trinity has seen in a long time, and she will truly be missed by her Bantam track & field family."
