Trinity Women's Indoor Track And Field Returns To Action At Springfield's Maroon & White Classic

Springfield, Mass. - Sophomore Lauren Barrett (Peabody, Mass.) recorded a first-place time of 19:23.09, as the Trinity College Bantams returned to women's indoor track and field action in the Maroon & White Classic Meet this afternoon at the Springfield College Field House.  

Barrett edged Coast Guard's Rachel Burchill by .21 seconds, and Bantam first-year Grace Harrison (Montclair, N.J.) came in third in the race with a time of 19:35.60.  Trinity's 4x400-meter relay foursome also finished first, winning by 1.07 seconds with a time of 4:12.08.  Senior co-captain Katie Tonyai (Jaffrey, N.H.), sophomore Anna Barnes (Storrs, Conn.), and rookies Katie Lazur (East Hanover, N.J.) and Katie Marlow-Benedick (Weston, Mass.) made up the quartet.  Barnes was also second in the mile run at 5:24.24, while Tonyai was third in both the 60-meter dash and the 200-meter dash.  Trinity junior Briana Daley (Oak Park, Ill.) added a third-place finish in the 3,000-meter run for the Bantams.
