North Dartmouth, Mass. - Sophomore Anna Barnes (Storrs, Conn.) and first-year Katie Marlow-Benedick (Weston, Mass.) each won two races to lead the Trinity College Bantams to first place in the team standings in the Corsair Classic Women's Outdoor Track and Field Invitational at the University of Massachusetts-Dartmouth this afternoon. Barnes won the 800-meter run with a time of 2:22.89 and the 1,500-meter run at 4:56.51, and Marlow-Benedick won the 100-meter dash at 12.78 and the 200-meter dash at 25.93. The Bantams totaled 135 points to finish 21.5 points better than second-place Bridgewater State in a field of 13 Division III schools.
Trinity senior co-captain Sophie Long (Darien, Conn.) added a first-place time of 12:21.37 in the 3,000-meter steeplechase, while junior Briana Daley (Oak Park, Ill.), sophomore Caroline Sullivan (South Hadley, Mass.), and first-year Grace Harrison (Montclair, N.J.) were 1-2-3 in the 5,000-meter run. Rookie Katherine Bullock (Cape Neddick, Maine) was second in the long jump at 15'04.25, classmate Devan Walsh (Danvers, Mass.) was second in the javelin throw at 129'07", and first-year Peace Kabari (Manchester, N.H.) was second in the shot put at 38'05" to highlight the Bantam field events.
