Trinity Volleyball Drops Pair On Opening Day At Elmhurst Tournament

Elmhurst, Ill. - The Trinity College Bantams lost their first two matches in the Elmhurst College Volleyball Invitational this afternoon against Transylvania and Millikin , both by 3-0 scores.  The Bantams, who have lost four consecutive matches, are now 9-9 with matches against North Park and Wartburg tomorrow morning at Elmhurst.

Trinity lost three close sets against Transylvania, 25-19, 25-23, and, 25-22, and was beaten, 30-17, 30-21, and, 30-17, against Millikin.  Junior co-captain OH Hannah Brickley (Melrose, Mass.) combined for 23 kills in the two matches, while first-year MH Kate Giddens (Ranchos Palos Verdes, Calif.) added eight kills in each match. Junior Amy Hackett (wallingford, Conn.) and rookie Gina Buzzelli (Cheshire, Conn.) totaled 29 assists between them in the Transylvania match, while senior co-captain OH Danielle Isaman (West Hartford, Conn.) had eight kills and a service ace against Millikin.
