Women's Cross Country Captain Collects Trinity Blanket Award


Hartford, Conn., June 15, 2009 -  The Trinity College women's cross country team, under the direction of Head Coach George Suitor (16th Season), closed the 2008 season with an 18th-place finish in the NCAA Division III Regional Championship Meet.  The Bantams also finished 11th in the NESCAC Championships this fall.

Senior tri-captain Alison Lemire (East Hartford, Conn.) closed her collegiate cross country careers and received a Trinity Blanket Awards for earning nine or more varsity letters during her rcollegiate cross country and track and field career. Lemire posted the Trinity women's top 6,000-meter time of the fall at 23:30.18 (career best) in a 19th-place finish at the Pre-National Meet at Hanover, and the team's top 5,000-meter time of 18:32 (career best) in an 11th-place finish at the Saratoga Invitational.  She also came in a season-best eighth place in the Westfield State Invitational.

In the 5,000-meter races, women's freshman Reagan Aylmer (Moweaqua, Ill.) registered a season-best time of 19:10, while freshman Katlin Mock (Albany, N.Y.) posted a season-best time of 19:18, junior tri-captain Kate Barton (Englewood, Colo.) had a season- and career-best time of 19:35, junior tri-captain Giselle Harrington (Warner, N.H.) recorded a season-best 19:55, freshman Dana Pollock (Brewster, N.Y.) had a season-best time of 21:00, and freshman Jehanne Hill (Lexington, Mass.) earned a season-best time of 21:34. In the 6,000 meters, Mock boasted a season-best time of 24:09, Aylmer recorded a season-best of 24:34, Barton ran a season-best time of 24:53, Harrington had a season-best time of 25:24, Hill ran a season-best time of 26:13, and Pollock added a season-best time of 27:48.
