Trinity Women's X-Country Competes In Mass.-Dartmouth Invitational

North Dartmouth, Mass. – Senior co-captain Annie Penfield-Cyr (Underhill, Vt.) finished 42nd overall with a time of 19:31 to lead the Trinity College Bantams to 26th place in the women’s race of the University of Massachusetts-Dartmouth Shriners Cross Country Invitational this afternoon.  Penfield-Cyr finished 1:06 behind the top finisher and one second ahead of 43rd place.  Trinity totaled 701 points, while first-place MIT had 17 points, 25th-place Eastern Connecticut had 662 points, and 27th-place Franklin Pierce managed 724 points.  Junior Catherine O’Connell-Stingi (Manhasset, N.Y.) was the second-fastest Bantam with a 119th-place time of 20:37.

Sophomore Mary Daly (Madison, Wisc.) is also a top returner for the Bantams, while senior Caroline Healy (Winnetka, Ill.) is a dependable cross country and track and field performer, and junior Catherine O'Connell-Stingi (Muttontown, N.Y.) looks to make a full return from an injury last season. Four first-year prospects will compete for spots in the Trinity top seven.
