Hartford, Conn. – The Trinity College men's and women's cross country teams have announced their joint schedule for the upcoming 2018 season. Both teams will once again begin their fall campaigns at the annual Trinity Invitational at Wickham Park in Manchester, Connecticut on September 8.
The Bantam teams, coached by George Suitor (27th season), finished 9th (men's) and 10th (women's) in the 2017 New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) Championships last year, and are primed to build off late season momentum from last fall's season. The men's team finished 16th out of 55 schools at the NCAA Division III New England Regional Championship races while the women's put on a strong showing in the same event, finishing 11th of 56 teams.
After opening the season at home, the teams will compete at UMass Dartmouth Invitational on September 15 before racing again the following weekend in the Paul Short Invitational at Lehigh Unviersity on September 29 to close out the first month of the season.
To start the month of October, the Bantams will take to Westfield State to run in the James Earley Invitational before traveling to Harkness Memorial State Park in Waterford, CT for the Connecticut College Invitational on October 13. They teams will finish the month at Tufts, who will host this year's NESCAC Champsionships on October 27.
Following the conference championship, the Division III New England Championships will be held on November 10 hosted by fellow New England Small College Athletic Conference school, Bowdoin. The Bantam squads and/or individual runners can qualify for the NCAA Championships a week later which will be held at Wisconsin-Oshkosh on November 17.
