Kristina Miner joined the Trinity men's and women's track and cross country teams in 2008, after an outstanding athletic career as a student at Trinity, where she was a captain, an All-American and an Academic All-American runner. As an undergraduate, Miner was twice selected as the Trinity Club of Hartford's MVP, an award presented each year to the school's top female athlete.
Prior to her junior year, Miner, a five-time All-American and school record holder in numerous events, was hit by a car while running, in an accident that broke both of her legs. Despite the setback, Miner focused on returning to the sport in her senior season, and was awarded the Connecticut Sportswriter's Alliance Bob Casey Courage Award, an NCAA Postgraduate Scholarship, and she was a finalist for the NCAA New England Region Woman of the Year Award when she completed her remarkable comeback.
While Miner never returned to All-American status, she says that the entire experience has made her a stronger coach. Her dedication to the sport is evident not only through her commitment as an athlete, but through the amount of time she has dedicated to the sport, having worked as a recruiter, coach, clerk, and counselor before joining the Bantam staff.
Miner earned her bachelor's degree in public policy and law with
a concentration in international law/human rights. She is
currently pursuing her Master's Degree in public policy and law at
Trinity.
